I figure if people can ask zombie questions, I can ask a drag queen question. Who can come up with the best Esperanto term for "drag queen"? The famous song by Kore uses the English term.

You can listen to the Kore song (and read its strangely depressing lyrics) here

Second question - Who can come up with the best funny (or punny!) name for an Esperanto-speaking drag queen?

Tirregxino, or maybe more seriously Hominicxo.

EDIT: (I didn't realise how serious my first suggestion looked - needless to say "tirregxino" would be the "queen of dragging" lango.gif)

A direct translation would be trenreĝinotrenestrino, but I'd find another term.

My proposal: gejego

Both simple and extreme at the same time, can sound funny or mocking depending on context, and should be easily pronouncable.

My proposal: Verda ŝvelo

Works better if the person's underpants are green.

I would say travestantego.

What's a ŝvelo?

Because that's not gross stereotyping.

Generally speaking, drag queens and transvestites are rarely homosexual, and words suggesting such would be inappropriate.

The use of the word "queen" here suggests somebody who overdoes the situation. This is the primary difference between a drag queen and a transvestite. A drag queen uses outrageous womens clothes as props and then goes overboard, overacting the fem role. This is also the use of the word queen in Drama Queen. Overacting in order to draw attenion.

My suggestion might be trotrompinulo. Or maybe just trompinulo.

As to a drag queen who speaks Esperanto, I would simply say, "tre inteligenta trotrompinulo."

How about Priscilano? (I haven't seen the film BTW, so this is only a joke).

I admit I wasn't aware of that; I hope it was clear enough that I had no intention of offending anyone.

Anyway in light of this new information I withdraw my proposal, and I submit trovestulo or brilvestulo.

Of course, we need a term for drag kings too. Trotrompvirulo? Although I've never seen a king I'd describe as "tro"...
