chicago1:what about using "tio" to replace a predicate phrase as we do with the word "that" in English?.."Don't do that."Almost, but you need the accusative: Ne faru tion. The reason is that fari is taking a direct object, although "that" is not a precisely defined thing, which is the reason you are using tio.
In Eo:.."Ne faru tio."

(So "jeno" - which describes something being presented - is not even close then. Perhpas my friend meant something else starting with a "j", not sure.)
