Any English speakers willing to look over my Esperanto?

Not quite on the exact same topic, but what about using "tio" to replace a predicate phrase as we do with the word "that" in English?
e.g.
"I want to call her."
"Don't do that."
In Eo:
"Mi volas telefoni shin."
"Ne faru tio." (one friend suggested "Ne jeno faru", which looks cool but nor sure it's right)

In Eo:.."Ne faru tio."
Almost, but you need the accusative: Ne faru tion. The reason is that fari is taking a direct object, although "that" is not a precisely defined thing, which is the reason you are using tio.

Thanks. Yes, caught that after I sent it with the "tion." But thx for confirming.

(So "jeno" - which describes something being presented - is not even close then. Perhpas my friend meant something else starting with a "j", not sure.)

If I may hypothesise, perhaps the "jeno(n)" here means "Vidu jenon!" e.g. "Look at that! (ahead of us, in front of us)".

Seems like a good use for it nonetheless! rido.gif
