@ Darkweasel, I'm guessing the "afoĥ" is Bayerisch (probably spelt that wrong)? I think in English we just consider it an entirely different language to German (and yet consider Cantonese a dialect of Chinese, go figure rido.gif)

"bairisch" (or, in english, bavarian).

and yes, the viennese dialect is a bavarian dialect.

I somehow missed this thread until just now. What a surprise that article was! No cynical, snide comments about Esperanto at all - that's pretty rare. The whole article was nicely positive and Rob Hawkins gave a great interview on the radio.

That's precisely the kind of publicity that Esperanto needs. Forget the silly interviews with a bunch of freaks waving green flags whilst calling for the immediate adoption of Esperanto by the EU. That sort of stuff is just embarrassing and it only encourages people to be cynical and negative about Esperanto.

A big thank you to Rob Hawkins for representing the Esperanto-speaking community in such a good way.

There was also a website article which more or less covers the radio interview.

I do believe that's the exact same address as posted by qwertz, unless my browser's stuffing up (wouldn't surprise me)

No, that’s really the same address.

I feel something disappointed that BBC doesn't publish the whole interview. Beginnung at the salution ktp. An complete published interview-recording would give me the possibility to shape ("ig") my own opinion. (Hhm, how to translate that correct? German: "Ein komplett veröffentlichter Interview-Mitschnitt hätte mir die Möglichkeit gegeben meine eigene Meinung zu bilden.")

E-o translation attempt: "Tuta publiĝis intervjuon, tion donigus min ebleco, ke mi memkreius mia opinion." Its about an possiblity, which I reclaim to be happened in the past and which will not happen because the past is over. Hhm.

"A completely published interview would have given me the possibility to create my own opinion." is how I’d say it (might not be 100% correct, but at least comprehensible).

thanks darkweasel. Even if I would see that "opinion making" much more like an never complete finished "shape modelling" process. (similar like with modelling clay or Blender 3D modelling i.e. Sintel ktp). I.e I could use the textures of Sintel to create new movies. I.e. at Sintel 04:20 minute the man on the right in the background could be some reincarnation of the man's textures used at Elephants Dream.

Yes, Ciegered, I'm the guy who did the interview rideto.gif

Thanks for the nice words, everyone! I did the interview at 6:55AM and wasn't really awake, so I'm pleased it came out well.

The interviewer's accents weren't even that thick - in mid and north Wales they can be a lot harder to understand, even for me..could you understand the guy when he spoke Esperanto? okulumo.gif
