Any suggestions on the proper way to say, "It is not any better."?

Chainy (Näita profiili) 31. august 2011 12:13.33

"Ĝi ne estas pli bona." OR "Ĝi estas neniel pli bona."

Depending on the context, it's also possible to say that without 'ĝi':

"Ne estas pli bonE." OR "Estas neniel pli bonE."

Thanks. I think the the second one is close to the nuance that it isn't better, not even by a small amount. One of my first thoughts was, "Ne estas iom ajn pli bone." which has the sense of quantity but I'm not sure if that is gramatically correct.

Another thought I just had was, "Ne estas ankoraux pli bone."

I would also suggest (tio) tute ne plibonas.

If you want to say "There's no improvement so far", I might use Ankoraŭ ne estas pliboniĝo.

These are great alternate ways to express this. Thanks!

As Chainy points out the appropriate translation is dependent on context.

If a specific concrete thing is being referred to then 'ĝi' may be appropriate. If it's less concrete like an event or an action then 'tio' might be used. If the 'it's' is more like 'there is' the subject may be dropped completely.

Using 'ĝi' or 'tio' with 'esti' will require an adjective (bona), a subjectless sentence would have the adverb (bone). This choice is sidestepped of course if the idea is expressed verbally with 'bonas' aŭ 'boniĝas'

Ah, so that could give us, "Ankoraŭ ne pliboniĝas"... nice.

which means "it is not getting better yet".

Then how about this: "Ankoraŭ ne pliboniĝintas." Is that legitimate?
