Last night a member of the forum sent me a thank-you in Esperanto for sending the address of my blog to him, and then added that, as he was relatively new to Esperanto, he hoped he had worded it correctly.

I didn't think he had, but it occurred to me that *I* didn't know the proper way of putting it in Esperanto either.

The English version is "Thanks for sending it to me". Dankon por ??? ĝin al mi. Sendanta? Sendi? Sendis?

I've always had difficulty with this particular sentence form (and therefore generally avoid it), so now I'm putting the question out there - how would one say it correctly?

Vi sendis la adreson de via blogo.
Tiu forumano dankis vin pro tio, ke vi sendis la adreson, ĉu ne?
Tial li devis skribi: mi dankas vin pro tio, ke vi sendis la blogadreson al mi, aŭ mi dankas vin (dankon) pro sendo (certe, unufoja) de la adreso.
Aliaj manieroj:
Mi dankas, ke vi sendis la adreson.
Mi dankas pri la sendo de la adreso.

The English version is "Thanks for sending it to me". Dankon por ??? ĝin al mi. Sendanta? Sendi? Sendis?

Dankon pro ĝia sendo al mi.
Dankon pro la sendo de ĝi al mi.

Mi skribas en Esperanto, ĉar mi malbone povus ekspliki angle.

Dankon je tio ke vi sendis ĝin al mi.
Dankon je via sendo.

That's how I would phrase it.

I'd probably say "Dankon pro sendi la adreson" or "Dankon pro la sendo"/"Mi dankas la sendon".

In my opinion, "Thanks for" should be "Dankon pro", so "Thanks for sending it to me" should be "Dankon pro la sendo je ĝi al mi", but I think it's better to replace the -ing with a clause, that is, "Dankon pro tio, ke vi sendis ĝin al mi." By the way, it seems that I haven't seen much use of "ĝi" but "tio".
Actually, "Dankon pro la sendo" seems enough. In English it's a little strange to say "Thank you for sending", without the object, but in Esperanto it's also kind of strange to add an object (with a preposition, of course) after a noun, though the noun is from a verb.
