Yes but... ridulo.gif

"Why don't you put some dip on that chip you are about to eat."

(...granted, this is an uncommon example).

"ĉipso", no problem, if it's just one chip.

It's just the same as how one noodle of macaroni (one "macarono", if you will) is a "makaronio", but a whole plate of macaroni is "makaronioj"

Ah, yes... and on topic for tonight's festivities.

Well, if I see a friend eating ĉipsojn, I might well ask them if I might also have just one ĉipson - this example doesn’t seem too artificial to me.

I'm quite badly hungover from new year's eve festivities and now you've all made me want macaroni and cheese. I'm not sure how I'm going to drag my sorry carcass down to tesco's in this condition, but a cheap microwavable mac and cheese nun estas devo.

Haŭkins:.. mac and cheese ..
There's an idea. Mako kaj fromaĝo!

The following dictionaries list it as 'makaronioj': NPIV2002, Kondratjev, Hron.

ReVo lists the word as 'makaronio', but it then gives an example sentence using the plural form.

The dictionaries of Schuetz and Wells mention only 'makaronio' - but they give no example sentences on how to actually use the word.

According to the Russian-Esperanto dictionary of Kondratjev:
прим. в PV и ReVo слово makaronio употребляется в значении «макароны», что отражает устаревшее словоупотребление
(= Note: in PV and ReVo the word 'makaronio' is used in the sense of 'macaroni', which represents an out-dated usage of the word).

Seems we should change the Lernu dictionary entry to the plural form "makaronioj".

Or define makaronio as one noodle (which seems a better solution to me).
