What does sa mean?

I think it means yes but it is French. I don't think it is Esperanto. Is this a typo?

In French 'yes' is 'Oui' (pronunciation is similar to English 'we' ).
I think it's shortcut of 'Saluton'.

En la teksto de la jnijk-kurso vi povas trovi ankaŭ klarigon pri la vorto:

“Sa estas mallongigo de ‘saluton’. Ĝi estas uzata ĉefe en tujmesaĝiloj kaj retpoŝtmesaĝoj. Ankaŭ ‘Sal’ tie oftas.”

Do, ĝi ne estas tajperaro, sed simple neformala formo de vorto, kiun oni ofte ripetas en konversacio. Ĝi estas do ia slanga esprimo. Mi pensas, ke pli ofte oni uzas “Sal!”, sed eble mi malpravas. Ĉiuokaze, la normala vorto estas “Saluton!"

In the glossary of the Jen Nia IJK you can find this explanation:

“Sa estas mallongigo de ‘saluton’. Ĝi estas uzata ĉefe en tujmesaĝiloj kaj retpoŝtmesaĝoj. Ankaŭ ‘Sal’ tie oftas.”

It says that ‘Sa’ is short for ‘saluton’ and mainly used in online chat and email messages. ‘Sal’ is another common abbreviation in such media.

So, it is not a typo, just an informal variant of a word often repeated in chatting, kind of SMS slang. I think ‘Sal’ is used more often than ‘Sa’. Anyway, ‘Saluton’ is the normal word.

If I were to write it, I'd likely write it: sa'.

And when you get bored with saying saluton (after using it a 100 times at a congress) the humorous 'salaton' is an alternative.

It is funny how we get bored of saying hello in other languages all the time. Yet, we never get bored of saying hello in our own language. Weird.

Technically "sa" doesn't mean anything (unless it's the adjectival form of "so" (which is the letter s)).
Technically (i.e. according to the rule #16) "saluton" doesn't have a "short form", "saluto" does,
