Mysystemlater:Saluton, I'm working on my Esperanto by translating some of my favorite writings but I'm lost as to how to translate "Themselves" into Esperanto, as there seems to be no suffixSince I don't know the exact sentence you want to translate, so can only guess. Most probably "ili mem" is wrong and "si mem" or "sin mem" is be correct. But as I said, I would need the complete sentence to tell.
-self in Esperanto.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

johmue:Yes, of course one must know the context, ili mem is just at best a translation of "themselves" taken out of context.Mysystemlater:Saluton, I'm working on my Esperanto by translating some of my favorite writings but I'm lost as to how to translate "Themselves" into Esperanto, as there seems to be no suffixSince I don't know the exact sentence you want to translate, so can only guess. vikungen:Isn't themselves always refering back to a subject. So then it would be si mem or sin mem.
Yes, of course one must know the context, ili mem is just at best a translation of "themselves" taken out of context.
I can't think of an example where themselves would translate to ili mem at least.

To get it clear again: There is not a drop-in Esperanto word that can be considered equivalent of "themselves". Th OP needs to provide his sentence.
