Sorry I am writing this in English, but I've only just started to learn and therefore this would be better for me in English.
Maybe this is a trivial point but I've just learned that the subject of a sentence should end in -n e.g. La pomo la knabon manĝas!
But if we have peoples names, does this not make this more difficult? What should I do.
For example, Anton amas Steven. Is this not ambiguous?
This could mean that Anton loves Steven, or Steven loves Anton.
So how is this treated?
Dankon!

La objekto finighu per -n.
dr3w199:This is a very good question.

Tio chi estas tre bona demando.
Some mean that "je" may be used, and that this is sanctioned by Rule 14; e. g. "Anton amas je Steven"; others mean that "je" in such cases is not correct.

dr3w199:Hello,First: many names have esperanto equivalents:

Anton = Antono
Steven = Stefano
So you can write:
Antono amas Stefanon: Stefanon amas Antono
Second: you can always add acting ending -on, if necessary
Anton amas Steven-on: Steven-on amas Anton
Third: Add je antaŭ the name to form accusative:
Anton amas je Steven: Je Steven amas Anton
Fourth: Use sinjoro:
Anton amas sinjoron Steven

Is "al" correct? According to EPIV "al" shows purpose of a feeling, thought or will, eg. love for someone.

"Mi amas al vi vian vizaĝon" makes a little sense. In this case I would say: "Mi amas ĉe vi vian vizaĝon"

bryku:"Amo al iu" is good, but "mi amas al vi" is rather not so good, but:Dankon.
