This is why I love translation--one gets to sort through all these possible shades of meaning and try to arrive at what the original author's intent was. I'm going with the following:

Ĉu vi volas ke la aŭtoj veturigu per si mem?

"Sin" because it is direct object and therefore accusative case is required.

"Veturigi" means "make something veturi". Hence I feel a certain lack of a direct object in your example. What are the cars supposed to make travel?
I think in most (all?) cases where you have a verb with -ig- and no direct object, something is amiss. Either you add an object, or the -ig- is superfluous or the -ig- was meant to be an -iĝ-.

The following two sentences however sound about right to me:
Ĉu vi volas ke aŭtoj veturu per si mem?
Ĉu vi volas ke aŭtoj veturigu sin mem?
