The closest I've come is "renversi" but I don't know if that's right. I'm talking about flip as a verb, as in to do a backflip or to flip a patty with a spatula.

I think renversi expresses the idea well, especially in the case of the patty. You could say ekrenversi to convey the idea of a quick, momentary movement.

To me a diving flip is more related to a somersault in the air than to the flipping of a patty. I'd use "somersault" which Reta Vortaro gives as "transkapiĝo."

Alrighty then. Thanks.

I thought this would be about expletives.

I just saw this on the Esperanto word of the day:

Esperanto: Ni vetĵetis moneron por decidi.
English: We flipped a coin to decide.

"vetĵeti" = "vet-ĵeti"; to throw for betting.
