It`s just enough to say:

La tempo finis ridulo.gif

the simpler - the better

or if related to a lesson :

la leciono finis ( forfinis ).

"Fofini" gives an impression of leaving some limits , at least to me , so it`s quite nice to use it too perhaps ridulo.gif

No, as far as I know, "fini" is transitive. You should say "la tempo finiĝis".

"la leciono finis" would only be correct if it was followed by "enuigi min" okulumo.gif

And I totally agree with what Erinja said, practice makes perfect.
