Hello.

I would like a translation into Esperanto of the word "kick", in this context:

I kick you during 15 minutes from the chat because of insulting.

I would say forjxeti, or eljxeti.

Thanks.

Kial ne simple forigi ?
Why not simply forigi ?
You don't really want to kick or throw.

Yes, maybe.

Foririgi?

Seems like forigi covers it pretty well for the context.

You could go with forsendi or elirigi, but personally, I prefer elĵeti, as it would involve the idea of being thrown out, which is really what "kicked" means here--not just being dismissed, but actually ejected.

Polaris:but actually ejected.
On that note, what does "eject" translate to in EO?

I always use "elĵeti" for this meaning of "kick", but I've seen "forĵeti" and even "forpiedbati" (don't try this last word @ home) used in this sense.

I don't know, maybe this is just my IRC addict bias, but in your context, don't you mean "ban" rather than "kick" (in IRC parlance, a kick is a one-time ejection from a channel, after which the user can rejoin, while a ban is a block from joining the channel)? Your "during 15 minutes" seems like this, and if I'm right, maybe you want to use "bloki" (to ban) or "elĵetbloki" (to kick-ban).

Wells and Butler both have elĵeti, which I would recommend here. Benson also has elpeli which is fine if you are talking about expulsion in the sense of 'driving out', as in La alianco elpelis la militfortojn de Sadam el Kuvajto, "The alliance drove Saddam's forces out of Kuwait'.
