I was actually just responding to Troyus23's original response to the subject (which has since been replaced). It was prime, grade-A troll-food. That's the sort of stuff that reels 'em in rather than keeps 'em out.
I totally understand the urge to respond to nonsense, but I'm getting to the point where if I see something that just. has. to. be. answered. I take that as a sign that I may be getting played. Because in those situations, usually the only thing the troll will think when he's reading my response is "That's right, monkey. Dance."
I finally decided to stop being the dancing monkey (well... as much as I can; quitting any bad habit is always a struggle, of course). And the way to do it is to recognize that "ooooh, I can't let him get away with THAT" feeling as a sign that the organ grinder might be starting to turn the crank.
When someone says "Esperanto is the stupidest idea I've ever heard, and only idiot's and (probably) nazi's would ever waste their time learning such a freakish blend of Spanish, Russian and Swahili (I mean, it doesn't even have any plural's) and it's incredibly monotonous sounding and robotic..." just walk away. They're trying to rile you up with nonsense. You know it's nonsense, but don't bother telling them. They know it's nonsense, too. That's why they said it.
The Esperanto movement is racist and pro-genocide.
Eye-roll.
Whatever.

Hey, I'm no stranger to it myself, so, no blame from me. And it's probably good to remind ourselves that sometimes what we see in forums just plain isn't worth wasting time with, especially if that wasting of our time is actually the entire point of the original poster.
