Ĉu la frazo "mi ne devas legi tiun libron" signifas "mi devas ne legi tiun libron" do "I musn't read this book", aŭ "I haven't to read this book"?
Se tio signifas "I musn't read this book" do "mi devas ne legi tiun libron", mi dezirus scii per kiu esperanta frazo oni devis traduki la anglan frazon "I haven't to read this book".

Internaute:aŭ "I haven't to read this book"?Ne. Tio esprimighas per "Mi ne bezonas legi tiun chi libron".

Mi ne trovis uz-ekzemplon en la Fundamenta Gramatiko, Fundamenta Ekzercaro kaj Universala Vortaro. Tamen uzo je "ne dev[i|as|is|os]" trovighas en la Antauparolo al la Fundamento kaj en la lingvo-uzo de Zamenhof ekster la Fundamento. Se mi ne pretervidas ion gravan, en tiuj Zamenhofaj ekzemploj la signifo de "ne dev[i|as|is|os]" estas pli-malpli: "ne rajt[i|as|is|os]".
