hi, i know this is not completly on the topic.

i was just wondering if there are any esperantist around who play WoW. if there are i think it would be cool if we could make a Guild for gamers who are learning esperanto and are playing WoW. i also think that it would improve our esperanto as we use it in a rpg game world. So if any1 plays World of Warcraft and(or) knows about an esperanto speaking guild that i can join, please tell me.

I don't play WoW anymore, but I was playing City of Villains today (yes, I'm on the head start) and I jokingly asked "Ĉu iu parolas Esperanton?"  As luck would have it, there was, in fact, another Esperantist playing!  We talked for a while Esperante until my computer shut off for no reason (actually, I think it overheated).  Does anyone else play City of Heroes/Villains?  I'm on Virtue, as Malbonulo.

I posted the fisrt forum a long time ago, and kinda forgot about it- untile today, when i wrote in esperanto in general chat. i had someone reply asking, if it was esperanto- and so i told him about this website, hopefully he might get intrested in learning and i'd have somone to talk to.

anyways, i'm in the server Dunmaul. my main character is Ooming. if any1 is intrested in joining my server please send a message to me.

if there are other esperantist on other servers, i may even move my character. u never know, if we get enough people on one server, we can make a guild where we can practice esperanto.

Well, are you horde or alliance? I just created a Human Paladin called Thordin, but it said Player not found when I tried making you my friend.

Senlando/Ooming, your nick seems vaguely familiar to me, so maybe you already met my brother. He's almost always playing WOW, and his wife plays it too. My brother is into E-o too, as much as I am. But I just happen to not be into WOW. But I'm a computer nerd so I like listening to what he does with his guild and the web site he designs for it, using our programming languages that we are into as add-ons for the game, or how to tie WOW add-ons into his web site for all the features that is useful to him and his guild. I only know what a guild is because of his explaining to me. And I visited him again just yesterday and learned even more details, this time seeing some character names, which I wonder might have been why your nick seems vaguely familiar to me.

His guild is The Coven. Its website is http://thecoven.sorren.com/. My bro is the guild leader as website programmer. I don't know what the major guilds are, but I know his is one of them. I see & hear "Malygos" a lot, so it might be the world or the server, but I'm sure you can get more info from the web site. I don't remember my bro explaining which server he connects to or what Malygos specifically is. But I do remember him talking a lot about coordinating MC raids (MC = molten core, the hardest places to go). He has 2 characters leveled to max (60 I think), and is level 30 on one of his other 8 characters that he started, the new players created mostly for the purpose of holding the guild's bank items. He keeps track of a lot and the guild is pretty involved.

Well, that's about all I can tell you, but if you email me at shawn.eo@sorren.com then I can answer any more questions you may have, or I can find out for you. My bro is very cool and I appreciate him a lot, as well as neat people like him. I'd be happy to connect a likewise neat Esperantist with him.

I don't play WoW, but I do play EverQuest 2 and had an Esperanto-related experience there. In this game there is a guild window with information about members of our guild and so on, including a space where each person can write a brief line of whatever they want under their character's name. Most of my guildies put a little joke or something cryptic there; I put "Cxu vi parolas gxin?" and someone else in the guild recognized it as Esperanto. Turns out they had studied it ~10 years ago heh.
