As the title says, I'm wondering how to translate the phrase "to the effect that" (e.g., "he's made a comment to the effect that the information in the book isn't accurate") into Esperanto. Would a literal translation ("al la efiko ke") work?
Thanks in advance for your time.

Generally speaking this
3le1zer8:is usually a bad idea. In order to be comprehensible globally words in Esperanto tend be quite concrete, so you should ask yourself what "effect" means in the original sentence. Has it the meaning of "a change that somebody/something causes in somebody/something else; a result" (from Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary)? Obviously not, so "to the effect that…" is an English idiom with some other meaning (English is (in)famous to have a lot of such idioms). Decipher that and you get the message, idea of the sentence, which you need because you should translate ideas, not words.
