How do you espress laughter in written Esperanto?

What word does one use to express a chuckle or laugh, when writing a letter in Esperanto? I haven't been able to find out, so far, and would appreciate if someone could let me know. In english we would write "Ha!", or something similar. Is there an equivalent in Eo? Thank you!

I think, every human in the world laughs in the same manner:
ha, ha, ha (loud and merrily)
ho, ho, ho (bighearted, or modest when in low)
hu, hu, hu (quiet, whispering)
he, he, he (joking)
at least, we Japanese feel like those.

"siaj gluteoj skuiĝas" doesn't work here. "si" and forms of "si" (like "siaj") can never be a subject.
